The Associate Director, Procurement, Secondary Data & Analytics role will focus on developing a Category Strategy for enterprise Secondary Data(eg. sales data, claims data, health care data, and real-world data and Analytics Services (including use of advanced decision analytics and artificial intelligence) that defines the enterprise sourcing strategy for these categories of spend. This role is expected to ensure close alignment to business priorities and functional objectives.
This role will develop, maintain and implement a 3-year strategic plan that ensures alignment with company and business unit priorities and executes sourcing initiatives that drive maximum value. Additionally, this individual is responsible for overseeing the execution of category strategies by multiple cross-functional & market teams, including sourcing and contracting. This role requires the understanding of procurement principles, practices, and processes. The role also encompasses in-depth knowledge of sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management, procurement technologies and latest industry trends.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Strategic Business Partnering & Category Strategy Development
- Partner with BMS’ Business Insights & Technology (BI&T) and Commercial functions to manage the various types of data, including National/Subnational, Spec Pharm, Claims, Customer Master, VAP, and other relevant data sources. Develop and implement data stewardship practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Subject matter expert for Data & Analytics categories.
- Establish a global matrix team (Agile Sourcing, Strategic Corporate Transactions, Ex-US Site Leads) with clear roles and responsibilities to ensure “one-face” across the various business leads.
- Develop, maintain and implement a 3–5-year strategic plan and lead major category initiatives, including end to end process optimization, make / buy analysis and recommendations to Business partner teams.
- Define buying channels and purchasing policies to drive compliance and adherence to category strategy, with a user-centric approach.
- Develop and maintain self-service processes and frameworks to allow business units to purchase against preferred suppliers and rate cards.
- Support data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Supplier Management
- Foster collaborative relationships with highly strategic global / regional suppliers via category and supplier segmentation, metrics/KPI development and application, scorecards, contract management, etc.
- Develop a list of preferred suppliers within a category of spend and manage compliance.
- Support Supplier Development efforts to support pipeline of new and potential supplier partners.
- Facilitate continuous improvement and innovation that will enable BI&T, Commercial, category and functional leads to achieve strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum education of a BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred). MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of business experience in Secondary Data related role or in a Procurement function is required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of change management and ability to execute change strategies.
- Experience leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teams.
- Internal stakeholder management, data/information management, continuous improvement expertise and project management skills.
- Procurement process knowledge, agreement management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning experience.
- Experience in Data acquisition and management aimed to solve business challenges, provide insights & identify opportunities for the Business is preferred.

Compensation Overview:
Tampa - FL - US: $161,250 - $195,391
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
