SciTec has an immediate opportunity in our Boulder, CO office for an Associate Systems Engineer with experience in model-based systems engineering. This engineer will be responsible for performing systems engineering in support of SciTec systems development, including the development of system specifications, software architectures, and component interfaces. This work will be performed collaboratively with both customer representatives and with SciTec technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the creation of operational concepts, stakeholder needs, system requirements, and system architectures using model-based systems engineering tools
  • Developing documents and briefing materials to communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers in support of systems engineering analysis
  • Developing tools and techniques to employ system models to support engineering analysis
  • Coordinate with technical SMEs across the program to develop solutions to customer requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (including computer science)
  • At least 1 year of professional or academic experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Utilized INCOSE-defined system engineering principles on previous professional or academic projects.
  • Intermediate proficiency in at least one programing language (e.g. C/C++, Rust, JavaScript, Python)
  • Detail Oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

  • Current SECRET security clearance. Current TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information is a plus
  • A degree, concentration, or minor in Systems Engineering.
  • Prior experience with the Cameo/MagicDraw suite of tools. Demonstrated experience with extending these tools using custom scripts and tooling is a plus
  • Experience in software development or expert proficiency in one or more programming languages, particularly proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Groovy
  • Familiarity with systems modeling standards, such as SysML 1.x, DoDAF, UAF, SysML 2.x, and UML. Familiarity with language standards and metamodels
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices, including the use of version control (e.g. Git), unit testing, and continuous software integration and delivery
  • Academic credentials or industry certification (e.g. INCOSE) in systems engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience with software engineering, remote sensing, or aerospace applications

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $94,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
