We are seeing one Audit Support Specialist for a full-time contract opportunity with FM Talent Source for one of our valued clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as a point of contact for CCDF audits, working with OCC staff, grants management staff and other ACF/HHS entities to review and track audits and other data reports. In collaboration with the OAD Senior Audit Specialist, the incumbent in this position works to review and cross-check audits against the administration of CCDF to assess compliance and performance, as well as disallowances. Coordinates the management and oversight for single independent audits and OIG audits.
- Reviews audits in a timely manner, follows up on OCC actions and other recommendations, as well as tracks lead agency action steps and analyzes information from a wide range of sources, including plans and data submitted by grantees; outside studies and reports; State improper payment reports; and other materials.
- Supports the evaluation and assessment of grantee compliance with program requirements and performance. Ensures that grantees comply with CCDF requirements to effectively implement CCDF plans.
- Supports the development of responses for requests and inquiries from the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Accountability Office (GAO), ensuring transparency and accountability in the administration of CCDF programs.
- In coordination with the OAD Senior Audit Specialist, tracks and analyzes information from CCDF single audits, state plans, grantee data, disallowances, state monitoring and accountability reports, and technical assistance contractor reports. Identifies program trends, achievements, best practices, gaps, and concerns.
- Assists in the oversight process to guarantee both programmatic and fiscal compliance with federal laws, policies, and regulations.
- Prepares a variety of position papers, briefing documents, data fact sheets, and other materials concerning child care programs under the auspices of OCC.
- Identifies and explores and suggests alternatives, outlines options, and prepares comprehensive recommendations to ensure the development and implementation of effective child care programs.
- Prepares and supports the delivery of oral briefings or presentations on CCDF audit issues and concerns, as appropriate, to other staff, supervisors, higher-level officials, and outside organizations.
- Plans and/or accomplishes assignments in support of Agency initiatives and projects and performs cross-functional tasks to support work across OCC Divisions, as needs arise.
- Coordinates, consults, and builds relationships with staff at appropriate levels in CCDF program-related components within ACF/DHS and other Federal Agencies and non-Federal entities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Auditing, or a closely related field
- Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Audit support or audit coordination,
- Federal grants management or oversight,
- Financial compliance, monitoring, or accountability,
- Government program analysis or program integrity
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, analyzing, or supporting Single Audits and auditrelated documentation under federal funding requirements
- Experience supporting compliance with federal laws, policies, regulations, and grant requirements, including tracking findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal divisions and external partners in a remote or distributed work environment
Compensation Range: The salary range provided is determined by market value, internal equity, and the candidate's experience and qualifications. Offers will be extended within this range, though not all candidates will receive an offer at the upper limit.
