Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College has openings for part-time Biology Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of biology on campus. Assignment(s) will begin in the Fall Semester. Common courses in which we are in need:
• BIO 112: Intro to Biology (Lecture)
• BIO 113: Intro to Biology (Lab)
• BIO 135: Basic Anatomy and Physiology with Laboratory
• BIO 137: Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Laboratory
• BIO 139: Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Laboratory
Job Duties:
• Plans and carries our instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for in-person or online courses.
• Provides instruction to students in the subject area.
• Prepares lesson plans (as needed) and maintains records and reports on student attainment, attendance/activity and progress.
• Utilizes approved online course template and syllabus format, maintains classroom order and discipline.
• Provides timely feedback to students
• Completes required trainings as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Biology or Anatomy and Physiology (or related field) with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline or closely related subject matter.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience teaching online, in-person, or hybrid courses is preferred.
• Experience using Blackboard (or a similar learning management system as a delivery method for classes) is recommended.
• Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
