Job Summary
The Division of Business, IT, and Professional Studies is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach courses in introductory business, principles of management, and other related courses. Ideal candidates will be comfortable teaching online asynchronous courses and engaging with students virtually. We welcome candidates from across the US, but candidates familiar with the business and industry landscape in Northern Kentucky are especially attractive.
Faculty may be assigned courses that include both traditional college students and high school students earning dual credit. This dynamic mix offers a unique opportunity to engage learners at different stages of their academic journey.
Job Duties:
- Teach assigned courses, participate in early alert processes, and complete all required training and paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in business administration or a substantially related field plus two years of industry experience in a managerial role.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA and 3+ years of industry experience in a managerial role.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.)
- Significant teaching experience, particularly at the college level
- Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement
- Experience working with and understanding students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in academic advising and supporting student success
- Previous experience in a community college setting
