Position Overview:
Enters and manages all Purchase Orders into Century's MRP system
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating & entering Purchase Orders into Century's database system.
Inputs all quality codes, order notes and pertinent instructions to the order as submitted by the Account Manager.
Acknowledge with supplier all Purchase Orders created.
Expedite all orders to ensure timely deliveries and head off any potential delays.
Responsible for making any and all changes to Purchase orders (dates, prices, quantities, etc.)
Responsible for negotiating cost savings and re-sourcing parts to preferred suppliers
Communication: Works closely with all Account Managers to ensure proper data entry results and any changes needed on Purchase Orders
Communication: Works closely with supplier base via email and phone
Responsible for ensuring accuracy of all data entry results.
Assist sales staff in obtaining price quotes.
Schedule parts to arrive in a timely manner to maximize cash flow and keep inventory levels down.
Additional duties as assigned by the Commodity Supervisor and or Corporate Director of Purchasing.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge and use of basic PC skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
High degree of accuracy in data entry required
High School diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of purchasing or supply chain experience
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience with Prophet 21 ERP system
Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings
