This role reports into SCD, an Ellsworth Corporation company, located in Germantown, WI. Candidates must be open to an on-site/hybrid work schedule out of our Germantown facility. The hiring manager is also open to considering associate level candidates.

This role executes all functions of procurement up to and until the point of receipt and develops and leverages supplier relationships for operational and cost-saving initiatives for assigned commodity categories. It also ensures optimal stocking strategies to meet Customer demand at the best price point of purchase.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates pricing, returns, non-conformance, and best terms with Suppliers.
  • Submits daily purchase orders based on material requirements and manages the process through release, confirmation, non-conformance, and delivery.
  • Develops and maintains relationships throughout the Supplier Organization to facilitate prompt resolution of issues (expedites, sales and customer service questions / concerns, customer specifications, product conformity, logistics, etc.,)
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve pricing questions, confirm current costs, and obtain quotes for products
  • Collaborates with the Planning team to ensure accurate inventory levels throughout the Commodity
  • Partners with the Sourcing team to implement Supplier Scorecards and KPIs, participates in regular supplier performance reviews. Takes action with Suppliers for Operational Improvement and Cost Savings opportunities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic buying, purchasing or related field (Associate level candidates will have at least 1+ years' experience in purchasing or related field)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent
  • Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain management desired (Certified Purchasing Professional - CPP) through the American Purchasing Society or supply chain certification through APICS
  • Ability to build strong Supplier relationships and possess the understanding of the entire supply chain within a commodity.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, including making recommendations which may be outside standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively communicates the impact of supply disruptions
  • Continuous Improvement experience desired
  • Negotiating skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
