Job Summary
Thebuyer lead generates and manages purchase orders that involve making judgments such as choosing which specific product or material from the established vendor product lines will satisfy the customer's needs or determining the price to be quoted when pricing involves more than merely referring to a price list or making some simple mathematical calculations.Supervises buyers.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Determiningavailability of ordered items and suggesting substitutes when necessary Advisingexpected delivery date and method of delivery Recording order and customer information on order sheets Checking order sheets for accuracy and adequacy of information Orderfollow-up Maintains order files and verifies shipping invoices against original orders. Use catalogs or manufacturer's manual to ensure proper item is supplied or to verify the price of order' Directly supervises employees in the buyer department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to threeyearsrelated experiencein supervision of a workforceandinpurchasing; or equivalent combination ofeducation,trainingand experience. Will also have knowledge and general proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other required software that is used at the job site. Experience in O&M to include support of a work force that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record.
