Job Summary
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologist to join our established team. The successful candidate will provide consultation, diagnosis, and comprehensive non-invasive management for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position offers an opportunity to join our Cardiology division which serves a diverse patient population. The team is dedicated to the highest quality care and promoting continued education in its staff. This role requires clinical excellence, a commitment to quality improvement, and active participation in our educational mission. In addition, there are substantial growth and leadership opportunities available within the department and the institution.

Key Responsibilities

I. Clinical Practice and Patient Care
Consultation and Diagnosis: Provide expert cardiovascular consultation services to
referring physicians, the Emergency Department, and other inpatient services.

Non-Invasive Management: Evaluate and manage patients with a broad spectrum of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, including:
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
- Heart Failure (HF)
- Valvular Heart Disease
- Arrhythmias (requiring medical management)
- Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia
- Preventative cardiology and risk stratification.

Diagnostic Interpretation: Interpret a high volume of non-invasive cardiovascular tests, including:
-Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
-Echocardiograms (TTE and TEE)
-Treadmill and Pharmacological Stress Testing (Nuclear and Echo)Holter and Event Monitoring
-Inpatient and Outpatient Care: Provide continuous and collaborative care for hospitalized cardiac patients (e.g., in the Cardiac Care Unit or telemetry floor) and maintain an active outpatient clinical schedule.

II. Quality, Research, and Education

Quality Improvement (QI): Actively participate in departmental and institutional quality initiatives aimed at improving cardiovascular outcomes, patient safety, and adherence to
evidence-based guidelines (e.g., ACC/AHA protocols).

Education: Participate in the teaching and mentorship of Internal Medicine residents, medical students, and other advanced practice providers.

Documentation: Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) supporting appropriate coding and billing.
Professional Development: Maintain currency in the field through continuing medical education (CME), participation in professional societies, and scholarly activity.

III. Operational and Compliance
Call Coverage: Participate equitably in the departmental cardiology call rotation for acute inpatient and ED consultations.
Collaboration: Work seamlessly with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, and cardiac rehabilitation teams to ensure comprehensive, coordinated patient care.

Qualifications
Education: M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.

Training: Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency followed by an accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program.

Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BE/BC) in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Licensure: Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in NYS, or the ability to promptly obtain a NYS license.

DEA: Valid DEA registration
