This person is responsible for the daily operation of catering delivery contracts and ensures that our quality standards are maintained This includes the driving and operating of the department’s vans. This position also is responsible for the food delivery services in the building and for remote set ups. This person will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. - Provides excellent customer service for catering events. Sets up events to include on-site and off-site coffee packages, small catering events, along with break down and cleanup of the events as needed. Responsible for gathering all delivery service supplies (condiments, silverware, napkins, etc) and food items needed for all deliveries and set ups. This includes driving the department vans. Responsible to follow all sanitation standards. Knowledge of menu and basic ingredients are required along with allergy awareness.
- Provides assistance to the managers and chefs with production, prep, serving as needed for all events.
- Performs a variety of tasks to assist other areas of dining service (on an as needed basis) with back of the house production in Dougherty Hall or campus wide special events.
- Assists with set up, service and breakdowns of all major events with Catering
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes a delivery service production sheet on a daily basis.
- Attends catering meetings as needed.
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
- High School Diploma/equivalent or 2+ years of food service experience required .
Specific Job Knowledge:
- Serv Safe certification preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food service overall
- Valid Driver License required with a good driving record and no traffic violations. Must be able to meet and maintain VU driving privileges as outlined by Villanova’s Risk Management’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy for Driver’s of University Vehicles.
Work Skills:
- Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a group under general supervision.
Equipment Knowledge:
- General kitchen and food service equipment knowledge
- How to operate the department vans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Serv Safe certification preferred.
- Ramp Certification preferred.

- Chemicals associated with the food service industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently
- Ability to sit stand for extended periods
