The Automation/Maintenance Project Engineering CO-OP will be located in Wichita Falls, Texas.

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic students to join our Wichita Falls facility. This position will assist our Automation teams in identifying new manufacturing technology and sustaining current technology in use at the facility and support maintenance projects.

This position pays $19.00 per hour and is ideal for Midwestern State University students (Wichita Falls, Texas). You cannot work more that 1000 hours a year and Howmet Aerospace Wichita Falls will provide a flexible class friendly schedule.

Our CO-OP program offers structured hands-on training involving plant tours, lunch & learn seminars, fun networking events to connect with fellow co-ops, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, each co-op will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. A co-op position at Howmet Aerospace will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any role, and it’s Howmet's goal to evaluate our co-ops for potential entry-level openings.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution (by May 2026).​

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Robotic, Industrial/Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science/Software Engineering.

  • Experience with robotics or other programming of robots

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment

  • Highly detailed and organized

  • Relevant internship/work experience a plus
