Job Summary

This role supports the Department of Civil Engineering by managing daily business operations, financial processes, and administrative functions. This position ensures efficient and professional office management, provides direct executive support to the Department Chair, and oversees purchasing, travel, budgeting, and compliance activities. The role also supervises student and hourly administrative staff, coordinates departmental events, and assists with academic support functions for graduate teaching assistants. Working under the supervision of the College Business Analyst Specialist and the Department Chair, and in collaboration with the department’s Financial Analyst, this position plays a key role in maintaining fiscal accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to university policies. This role exercises independent judgment in administrative decision-making, maintains confidentiality, and fosters positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
