JOB SUMMARY:
This position is the most senior banking position in the market and will represent the Bank with the highest level of integrity and professionalism at all times. Develop and maintain relationships with the market area business professionals with an emphasis on lending. Work collaboratively with the Relation Banking Team with referrals for cash management/deposit products and merchant payment services. Prospect commercial and business loan opportunities that adhere to the Bank’s Lending Policy and overall risk appetite. Promote and cross-sell the Bank’s Trust and Wealth Management Services to the Bank’s professional and business client base. Emphasis on a single department, holistic approach to all banking and wealth management services. Responsible for the overall financial and cultural success of the team.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related area or comparable relevant work experience within the industry
- Experience: 10 or more years of prior commercial lending and management experience, strong credit and analytical skills, and knowledge of Bank services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide strategic leadership for market to ensure all budgetary, strategic and internal cultural initiatives are achieved
- Develop and communicate team and group goals and establish operating expectations for branch manager and commercial lending team
- Develop annual branch budget with input from branch staff
- Develop and maintain revenue-generating client relationships by calling on prospective or existing customers in order to meet/exceed team loan growth and profitability goals.
- Interview loan applicants and collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request
- Establish and negotiate where necessary the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral requirements
- Manage workflow of credit analysts and loan assistants to ensure client requests are being handled in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely and thorough monitoring of all credits through periodic reviews, continual analysis and proper documentation
- Manage existing loans. Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past due accounts (except special assets). Report on classified loans to the Chief Credit Officer periodically
- Advise clients, where possible, on business management and financial matters
- Partner consistently with other internal business partners to uncover opportunities to deepen the client relationship i.e. Trust Services, Merchant Services, Mortgage.
- Undertake special projects relating to departmental services
- Actively participate in community organizations to maximize networking and source business development opportunities and demonstrates Oregon Pacific Bank’s commitment to the local community.
- Build client referral pipeline via identification and development of internal and external centers of influence.
- Be knowledgeable of bank compliance rules and adhere to all Bank, Federal and State policies, procedures, and banking regulations relating to this position

SKILLS:
- Solid knowledge of banking regulations, compliance issues and Bank policies
- Familiarity and experience with a variety of financial institution concepts, practices and procedures
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Tax Accounting
- Understanding of complex commercial and consumer lending terms and documentation
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in providing exemplary internal/external client and customer services in a professional manner and with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to be detail oriented with good problem-solving skills
- Ability to tolerate high levels of stress
- Ability to work with others in a cooperative manner that supports a team environment
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office Products to include Excel and Word

RELATIONSHIPS:
- Responsible to the Chief Lending Officer for fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.
- Supervises Market Commercial Lending Team
