Liberty FCU is seeking a Commercial Loan Processor. This position could be located at 4401 Theater Drive, Evansville, IN. The ideal candidate for this position must provide exceptional service to ensure a seamless loan process. This role will provide administrative support to commercial lending staff, interact with clients and third-party vendors, and ensure accurate and timely commercial loan documentation. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Process all loans as assigned, including the most complex files.
- Responsible for clearing conditions and issuing changes to the terms on previously approved loans.
- Responsible for verifying conditions of approval which may include, but not limited to client income/assets documentation, resolve routine title issues including, but not limited to the following: vesting issues, child support liens, judgment liens, mechanic liens and undisclosed lien reconveyances.
- Analyze, understand, and interpret loan policy and apply to loan requests.
- Evaluate loan documentation and clear conditions as per delegated authority.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely loan data on processing system.
- Obtain credit reports, flood determination reports, title examinations and appraisal information.
- Communicate with attorneys in preparation of documents.
- Review all prepared documents for accuracy prior to loan closing.
- Ensure all documentation is regulator compliant (i.e. Reg B, HMDA, Flood Certifications, etc.)
- Ensure that all documents have proper signatures, dates, disclosures, and other relevant data.
- Work closely with other members of department to ensure exceptional service is provided to client base.
- Ensure loans are booked correctly and collateral is forwarded to appropriate department.
- Perform research needed to resolve client problems in a timely manner.
- Serve as backup to other documentation specialists.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Detailed knowledge of processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of credit union’s policies and procedures, lending procedures and credit policies.
- In-depth understanding of computer loan system.
- Proven computer skills.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of federal lending regulations.
- Ability to analyze policies, procedures and guidelines in a way that maximizes productivity but protects the level of risk desired.
- Must be able to establish productive business interpersonal relationships with others inside and outside the organization and to work with little direct supervision in carrying out the responsibilities assigned.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Internet Explorer.
- Must have flexibility in working schedule; may be required to work weekends and/or extended hours. Reliable attendance is critical.
- Ability to operate standard business equipment: fax, copiers, printers, calculators, computers, etc.
- Ability to present professional image.
- Ability to handle sensitive documents or other confidential information.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision.
- Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of employees, officers, and directors.
- Must have attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and deal tactfully with clients (internal and external).
- College degree preferred, with a demonstrated mastery of loan processing principles: however, a combination of experience and education may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Experience and overall understanding of loan systems and various related host systems.

- Occasional travel to branch offices, seminars, and various training courses may be required.
