What you will work on

The Manager of Commercial Strategy plays a key role within Proximo Spirits. This role serves as a key bridge between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Leadership teams, delivering data-driven insights and strategic recommendations that fuel business growth and competitive advantage.

As a Commercial Strategy Manager, you'll tackle high-impact projects that directly shape our commercial success. You'll spend your time optimizing our Aera demand forecasting capabilities, building comprehensive annual operating plans that drive market share growth, and translating complex data from Nielsen, IWSR, and other syndicated sources into actionable business strategies. Your work will involve deep-dive analyses of brand performance, competitive landscapes, and pricing strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that accelerate revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Revenue Growth

  • Identify and evaluate revenue growth opportunities across markets, channels, and customer segments
  • Develop comprehensive, data-driven Annual Operating Plan (AOP) that balances realistic growth expectations with stretch targets
  • Drive market share gains through strategic analysis and competitive positioning recommendations
  • Partner with leadership team on long-term commercial strategy development

Demand Forecasting & Analytics

  • Strengthen adoption, functionality, and effectiveness of the Aera demand forecasting tool
  • Provide dedicated support to users and drive system enhancements in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Improve user experience and optimize forecasting accuracy through continuous process improvement
  • Generate and share monthly demand forecast analysis with key stakeholders

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Generate actionable insights and strategic recommendations by conducting in-depth analysis using VIP, Nielsen, NABCA, IRI, IWSR, internal sales and financial data, market research, and competitive intelligence
  • Provide monthly and quarterly quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Identify and communicate variances to plan, highlighting key issues, risks, and business drivers
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee system maintenance and optimization of Pricing Application (VIP 2.0)

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Insights

  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop deep understanding of markets and categories
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers behind performance trends and market dynamics
  • Create compelling presentations and strategic recommendations to improve business trends and outcomes
  • Collaborate with Sales and Distributor Finance teams on annual price increase analysis and implementation
  • Support Operations team with demand planning and inventory optimization insights
  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests to support executive decision making

Knowledge and Experience:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business analysis, or related field
  • Experience in consumer goods, retail, or similar industry preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and other data visualization tools
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI, IWSR, NABCA)
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting tools and pricing applications
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Aera demand forecasting platform
  • Background in pricing strategy and revenue management
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry (based on data sources mentioned)
  • Experience with annual operating planning processes
  • Advanced degree or certification in analytics, statistics, or related field

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $100,300 - $130,000 you can use this for the pricing manager along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
