This role will be focused on either the Executive or Physician Compensation practices.
About the Executive Workforce Practice:
Our Executive Workforce consultants provide comprehensive advisory services spanning executive compensation, governance, and leadership strategy. We help organizations define and implement effective executive compensation programs, ensuring alignment with market benchmarks, organizational strategies, and regulatory requirements. Our expertise includes governance support for boards and committees, performance evaluations for executives, and design of competitive total compensation and incentive programs. We also advise on executive benefits, pay-for-performance strategies, succession planning, and the effectiveness of leadership teams. Additionally, we provide insights on emerging trends, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and employment agreements to ensure a holistic and compliant approach to executive talent management.
About the Physician Workforce Practice:
Our Physician Workforce consultants help health care organizations navigate the evolving landscape of provider alignment, performance, and compensation. As the industry shifts from volume to value, we partner with clients to design compensation programs that engage physicians and advanced practice providers (APP), support organizational mission and strategy, and drive sustainable performance. Through our leading research, exclusive compensation data, and deep industry expertise, we help organizations attract and retain top physician and APP talent, align enterprise objectives with financial sustainability, and ensure compliance in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Our integrated solutions also support merger and acquisition activity, governance oversight, and performance transparency, all while advancing workforce strategies that prepare organizations for the future of care delivery.
JOB SUMMARY
At SullivanCotter, interns have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading compensation and rewards professionals across both the health care and not-for-profit sectors while building professional and analytical skills in a variety of project experiences. Interns help clients better understand their rewards programs and assist in developing a customized approach to compensation and workforce performance solutions. At the same time, gaining experience in project management, administration and team collaboration, salary and human resource analytic processes and knowledge of the health care industry.
This is a remote role; however, we currently operate in the following states: AZ, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, VA, and WI. You must reside in one of these states in the summer of 2026 to be eligible for this role.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conducting research to understand industry and organization-specific issues, including financial information, compensation and rewards, workforce metrics and structures and corporate performance
- Researching, gathering and analyzing data to determine the appropriate salary level and job title for existing and proposed positions
- Conducting market pricing, assisting in peer group selection, survey analyses, interpreting salary data, financial modeling and special research projects
- Assisting with various activities related to project management processes, describing and summarizing project objectives, methodologies, analysis and results, and quality reviewing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
- Must be available to work from June 1 through August 14, 2026
- Graduation date of June 2027 or before
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Understanding of Windows-based applications, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to:
- Gather, analyze and organize data using a logical and systematic process
- Ascertain relevant and irrelevant data when conducting analytical work
- Visualize and articulate problems and concepts systematically
- Recognize patterns and issues in sets of data
- Identify obstacles impeding project progression
- Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly language and tailor formal or informal communications to the audience
- Competent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills are required
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SQL, Python, Sigma, and Databricks with hands-on experience in Machine Learning applications
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is fully remote. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job.
This role will pay $30 per hour.
