Position Summary

The Compliance Manager is responsible for Proximo’s U.S. federal and state beverage alcohol regulatory compliance activities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance regarding compliance with federal and state trade practice laws and regulations.
  • Review all product labels and packaging for compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain federal label approvals and state brand and label registrations.
  • Maintain state price filings.
  • Prepare and submit state excise tax reports.
  • Obtain and maintain federal and state licenses and permits for manufacturing, distribution and retail activities, including reporting of corporate changes.
  • Obtain state and local permits required for events and activations.
  • Obtain and maintain solicitor’s permits and similar permits for individual employees.
  • Obtain and manage NABCA codes.
  • Report distributor and broker information to states.
  • Ensure compliance with state redemption and recycling requirements.
  • Provide guidance regarding product classification and product development.
  • Manage outside legal counsel with respect to complex label and formula issues.
  • Coordinate with internal counsel as required on all of the foregoing matters.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 7 years of relevant compliance experience, including at least 3 years of beverage alcohol compliance experience.
  • Strong writing and communication skills as well as analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and employee development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programs.

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $90,000 - $120,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
