About the role:

As a Technical Product Owner for Connected Truck Technologies, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of technical products and features, working closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders. You will translate business requirements into technical specifications; work with procurement to research, identify and source componentry; prioritize product backlogs; and ensure the successful development and delivery of commercialized products.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between engineering teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of product requirements, scope and desired outcomes.
  • Work with 3rd party partners and suppliers to document requirements, engineer and deliver product capabilities according to specifications on time and on budget.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories for development teams.
  • Manage the product backlog, including prioritization, grooming, and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and user experience teams to ensure product features are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Bring an agile mindset to existing stage gate product development processes—helping to adopt aspects of agile methodologies such as sprint planning and sprint reviews, daily stand-ups, MVP development, testing and optimization, grooming backlogs, etc.
  • Work with product management to align technical product development with the company's broader business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends and inform product development decisions.
  • Participate in the research part of research and development (R&D) process as needed to identify possible 3rd party solutions, work with them and internal engineering to test, evaluate and create MVPs for market testing and commercialization.
  • Coordinate product releases, including documentation, training, and support activities.
  • Other responsibilities as needed/determined.


When & Where:

You will report to, and work closely with, the leader of our Connected Truck Technologies group. This role requires an openness toward 10% - 30% travel, primarily within the U.S. and some international.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a product owner, technical product management, or related role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience working with hardware, firmware, and software in an IoT product ecosystem.
  • Experience in material handling, automotive, telematics or driver assisted technologies a plus.
  • Customer focused mindset with a commitment toward providing the best customer experience with our products.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.
