Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time and occasional (<10% of the time) job-related travel. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.



Shift

Monday- Friday, 8am – 5pm; with occasional holiday, weekends, and on-call per departmental needs



Job Summary

The Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) Manager has 24-hour accountability over the Central Sterile Processing Department for the Chandler campus – including the hospital, Center for Advanced Surgery, associated outpatient clinics and areas performing HLD. The CSPD Manager is responsible and accountable for the provision of day-to-day leadership, management, supervision, and development of Central Sterile services within the Chandler campus, the efficient and cost-effective delivery of surgical instrumentation, and production of optimal patient outcomes. The manager will cooperate, support, and participate in the development of organizational and departmental goals, implementing actions to ensure successful achievement of outcomes.

In addition, this position will work with department leadership to assure accuracy and validation of data, instrument inventory and tracking, case carts management, and timely turnaround of equipment and instrumentation to ensure clean, sterile and optimal instruments. This includes reconciliation of scope and instrument inventory.

The manager is responsible for staffing, budgets, fiscal management, education planning, and quality improvement as well as developing and directing department supervisors to provide essential support. This position will also set priorities for strategic Perioperative Services associated with essential CS expectations.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Prefer extensive (>5 years) experience in sterile processing and/or high-level disinfection, as well as leadership experience
CRCST required.
CHL preferred.
