Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40hrs/wk).Job SummaryUK Healthcare is seeking a Cytology Technical Specialist to serve as a Cytotechnologist/ Pathologist extender in the Cytology Laboratory. Duties include but are not limited to: Performing cytology case accessioning, processing and gross dissection of small core biopsies and to assist in ROSE procedures for FNA/ Core Biopsy touch preps independently by using the Mikroscan system. Staining and cover slipping of cytology specimen slides; maintaining supplies in laboratory; disposal of old specimens; identification and resolution of labeling/identification discrepancies. Additional duties include: Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of patient information and other business information in accordance with HIPAA and other compliance standards. Comply with established UK Healthcare Values and other established policies, including but not limited to compliance, quality, and safety. Previous ROSE procedures and Mikroscan system preferred. Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures required. Must meet regulatory requirements to perform high complexity laboratory testing.
