Position SummaryThe DARS and Transfer Articulation Specialist reports directly to the Registrar’s Office (RO) in support of program areas that provide information and services to current and returning students in order to facilitate their PSU enrollment and post-enrollment record-keeping. The Registrar’s Office is made up of four functional areas; Registration and Records, Academic Scheduling, Degree Requirements, and Veterans.
This position works as part of the Transfer Articulation team and is responsible for providing support to university enrollment, retention, graduation, advising, and student success initiatives. This includes duties such as:
- Evaluating transfer courses using accreditation standards, course catalogs, syllabi, and best practices to determine acceptability of course and proper articulation to PSU.
- Building course articulation rules and course limit rules in the DARS system tables for schools by reviewing transfer school catalogs.
- Processing post-baccalaureate transfer evaluations, at the request of the Advising department, to determine if any transfer courses should be entered into the DARS system.
- Evaluating military credit from the Department of Defense website and incoming transcripts.
- Monitoring the transfer articulation service email account and responding to questions/requests in an expedited and professional manner.
- Reviewing the catalogs for our 30 most common and local institutions that our students transfer from each year.
We are recruiting to fill two DARS and Transfer Articulation Specialist positions in the Registrar’s Office.Minimum Qualifications from Classification Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience.
Note:
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position
- Proven ability to perform detailed work, maintain high levels of accuracy, stay on task, and maintain multiple priorities in a self-directed way.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- An understanding of higher education curriculum standards and best practices
- 1-2 years experience building and maintaining transfer articulation rules within a degree audit system
- Experience using student systems and degree audit programs, such as Ellucian Banner Student Information System, Hyland OnBase and CollegeSource u.Achieve Degree Audit System (DARS)
- Experience in a Registrar’s office
- Experience working as a member of a team
