Job Summary

The College of Public Health\Public Health Analytics and Informatics is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team working on grant-funded projects, including the Rapid Actionable Data for Opioid Response in KY project. The QA Tester will test SQL programs, dashboards, and R scripts to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data solutions. This role is integral to maintaining the quality of data analytics and visualization products used in public health research and healthcare decision-making as necessitated by the principal investigator and public health stakeholder.

We are looking for candidates that have the following skills:
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with data visualization and dashboard testing.
• Knowledge of R and Python programming languages and relevant testing libraries (e.g., testthat, pytest).
• Familiarity with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Bonus skills:
• Experience working with tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Zentrack, Bugzilla, and Git)
• Experience handling healthcare claims data, CMS data, and HIPAA/PHI data
• Story telling and stakeholder translation (turning technical reports to leadership-ready summaries.

This position is remote.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

7+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on data analytics or business intelligence solutions, Proven experience testing SQL queries, R scripts and RShiny Apps. Experience in the biomedical or healthcare industry, Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts. Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, pytest).
