Join a team dedicated to advancing groundbreaking biomedical research. As a Data Review Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data generated from Animal Rule studies. Reporting to the Biocontainment Research Services (BRS) Manager, you'll review and verify raw study data, collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and research staff, and help ensure study documentation meets regulatory, institutional, and study-specific requirements. Your attention to detail will support compliant, high-quality research that contributes to life-saving scientific discoveries.
THE ROLE:
- Perform quality reviews of Animal Rule study data in both paper and electronic formats.
- Create, organize, and maintain study notebooks by compiling and printing raw study data in accordance with institutional guidelines.
- Review raw data, source documents, and study summaries for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Assist study personnel with notebook pagination, indexing, and documentation organization.
- Document review findings and coordinate timely corrections and clarifications with study teams.
- Manage multiple concurrent studies by maintaining organized, accurate, and audit-ready study notebooks.
- Maintain knowledge of departmental, institutional, and study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review study reports to verify consistency with source data.
- Order and maintain supplies needed to support data review activities.
- Assist with the preparation of study deviation reports and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), as needed.
- Help identify recurring documentation issues or quality trends and communicate findings to the Biocontainment Research Services Manager.

Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a science- or health-related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a scientific environment collecting, entering, reviewing, or managing research data. Relevant experience gained through academic research, such as a thesis or capstone project, may be considered.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience reviewing scientific or laboratory documentation.
- Experience supporting regulated research environments, including Animal Rule, GLP, or similar quality systems.
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Experience maintaining electronic records and scientific documentation systems.
Equivalent Experience
Six years of relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
