University Dental Health Services, Inc. (UDHS) is the faculty practice of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. UDHS employs faculty practitioners from a myriad of different specialties, including Oral Surgeons, Oral & Maxillofacial Prosthodontists, Periodontists, Endodontists and Pediatric Dentists. This clinical environment allows the dental professional the opportunity to gain valuable experience with various specialty procedures. UDHS is a team-oriented clinic focusing on the spirit of challenge, reward and fun. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM (no evening or weekend hours).

Job Summary
Performs chairside dental assisting and radiography. Guides patients through visits and treatments, ensures charts are complete and necessary information is collected, and coordinates patient flow. Ensures infection control in operatories and with instruments. Maintains supplies.
Essential Functions
Operatory preparation and chairside assistance to Faculty practitioners within the University's faculty practice, University Dental Health Services (UDHS):
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software preferred, but not required
- Maintain an aseptic environment; sterilizing and organizing dental tools
- Follow OSHA and infection control guidelines
- Follow HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain and dispense inventory and instrument cassettes
- Update patient records
- Schedule follow-up visits
- Miscellaneous clerical duties
Physical Effort
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
