Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in state of Kentucky.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs. Constant repetitive motion.

Shift

Monday – Friday, Day Shift; primarily 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hrs/wk); other hours/schedule as needed.

Job Summary

The dental hygienist provides direct patient care focused on prevention and maintenance of oral health. This includes performing prophylaxis and polishing, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planning, comprehensive assessments of hard and soft tissues, periodontal exams, and taking digital radiographs. Hygienists also apply fluoride varnishes and sealants as prescribed by the dentist and educate patients on home care practices to support long-term oral health.

Beyond patient care, hygienists maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment by setting up and disinfecting operatories, sharpening instruments, transporting and sterilizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and CDC safety standards. They are also responsible for keeping accurate clinical records by updating medical histories and medications, recording vital signs, documenting procedures in the patient management system, and scheduling follow-up visits.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Must have excellent clinical dental hygiene skills, and ability to work with mentally, medically and physically complex patients. MS Office, Dental Hygienist License, Attention to Detail, Team-Oriented, Knowledge of Medicaid Insurance, proficient in health records.
