About the role:
Perform cost down/feasibility analysis, design reviews and evaluations, 3D CAD modeling, BOM work, drafting/checking of drawings plus writing engineering change orders and technical reports. Work with production teams to provide hands-on support of design changes and production issues. Troubleshoot, develop and release problem resolutions for existing products. Oversee design changes of mechanical hydraulic and/or electrical components, products and systems related to all products.
What you will do:
- Applies engineering principles to the design of structures used in frames and accessories of forklift equipment, including parts supporting major components of hydraulic, and electrical systems. Takes new ideas or concepts and fit them into the overall design. Designs or redesigns new or existing products and incorporate creative and cost-effective ideas in the overall product layout.
- Facilitate product change introduction to production. Includes working with manufacturing and fabrication, drafting/checking Bills of Materials, Engineering Orders, and Drawings (components, system, and kits), and hands-on support of initial production builds. Maintain and facilitate the resolution of issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot, develop and release problem resolutions for existing products. Includes meeting with suppliers, Production teams, drafting/checking plus writing Engineering Change Orders, deviation requests and other engineering documentation.
- Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives on existing products. Includes conceptualization, research, supplier interface, ERP work and the creation of Design Change Proposals, Engineering Orders, Technical Reports and drawings.
When & Where:
Hybrid schedule, 3 days in office 2 day remote.
What you need to have:
- Working knowledge of Windows Office products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using good customer service skills.
- Experience using Creo or similar 3D CAD system.
- Component assembly experience in automotive or industrial systems – mobile or stationary.
- Must be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and be results oriented.
What would be nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with design, prototype build, testing, production release and costing.
- Experience with mobile industrial product applications in warehousing, paper, block handling and bottling.
- Experience working with consultants and suppliers for component development.
- Hands-on experience with design and testing of hydraulic components, drive systems, and mechanisms.

The pay for this position ranges from $75,056 to $85,452 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
