Required License/Registration/Certification

Registered Dietitian and Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians and Nutritionists within 6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include: regularly standing/walking with objects up to 10lbs, regularly sitting at a computer work station for extended periods of time (includes repetitive motions).

Shift

Monday through Friday,; approximately 8:00am – 4:30pm, every fifth weekend and regular holiday coverage.

Job Summary

Performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Responsible for the evaluation, coordination, and implementation of the nutrition care plan for patients. Provides education and counseling to patients on their nutritional needs. Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources. Performs duties in compliance with performance improvement plans, TJC, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Serves as a nutrition educator for students, medical staff, health professionals, and/or general public. Serves as a role model, resource, and leader for other clinical dietitians. Exhibits nutrition expertise in specified area of practice. This position is located in the Golisano Children’s at UK Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will be able to integrate laboratory data, current practice guidelines, make clinical judgments and recommendations; and also have excellent clinical skills and communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master’s degree and three years in Clinical Nutrition preferred. Experience in neonatal nutrition and Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition and/or Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) are preferred.
