Job Description
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Digital and Online Sales Manager is independently responsible for sales in the online and digital channel, including Amazon. This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of previous experience independently managing the Digital and Online channel in the publishing industry.
Independently responsible for Amazon, online retailers, and library aggregators (75%)
- Drive revenue results through active account management, utilizing sales data, identifying trends, and chasing market share. (15%)
- Develop an annual sales plan for each specific account. Meet with accounts as appropriate. (10%)
- Manage the channel’s advertising budget, making informed and experienced decisions on promoting titles across the online channel. (10%)
- Utilize account platforms for analysis and insights. (10%)
- Research comparable titles which drive Amazon’s SOQ process. (10%)
- Develop an annual online sales plan for HUP’s Loeb Classical Library. (10%)
- Negotiate terms and maintain contracts and agreements. (5%)
Execution, Operations and Reporting (25%)
- Monitor orders, shipments, and account issues in a proactive manner. (10%)
- Collaborate with colleagues on operational requirements that support results. (5%)
- Provide forecasting based on demand analysis, publicity, and trends. (5%)
- Execute weekly and monthly reporting for the channel. Monitor eBook sales reports and partner with accounting department to address issues. (5%)
Qualifications
Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications to be considered for this role:
- BA or BS college degree.
- A minimum of 3 plus years of direct experience and proven success independently managing digital and online accounts. Experience managing Amazon is required.
- Excellent written communication and Excel skills.

Additional Information
- Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week

Work Format Details
This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
Salary Grade and Ranges
