As our Digital Content Specialist, you will serve as a primary voice of the Trail Blazers across social and digital platforms, creating content that engages and grows our audiences while reflecting the unique culture and values of Rip City. You’ll bring the team’s approachable, clever, bold and authentic tone to life, ensuring our digital channels feel like home for fans. This role goes beyond content creation; you’ll foster community by amplifying fan voices, sparking interactive engagement, and delivering real-time coverage that captures the passion and energy of Rip City.

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Serve as a primary voice of the Trail Blazers on social media, ensuring content reflects the team’s unique brand values, tone, and Rip City culture.
  • Engage directly with fans to foster community, amplify top fan contributions, and highlight positive fan moments that make supporters part of the story.
  • Write captions and create content designed to drive interaction, encouraging fans to comment, share, react, and participate in meaningful ways.
  • Produce content for Trail Blazers social platforms and website, including real-time coverage through photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
  • Publish and manage website content to reflect the latest team news, events, and initiatives.
  • Provide social coverage of home games, road games (remote or travel), and team events as assigned.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as Retail, Community Programs, and DEI to ensure social content supports organizational initiatives.
  • Support the business by assisting with social reporting of sponsored content, campaigns, and events, tracking performance and key metrics.
  • Lead Gen Z and influencer strategies across Trail Blazers social channels, with a focus on TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
  • Identify new ways to grow audiences and engage fans by testing fresh creative approaches, products, and platforms.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Demonstrated experience in social, marketing, communications or related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to work nights, weekends and select holidays based on event schedule
  • Ability to embody and consistently deliver the Trail Blazers’ voice and tone across all digital platforms
  • Strong fan and community engagement skills, including sparking conversation, responding in character, and building authentic connections with Rip City fans.
  • A passion for and understanding of digital and social media channels and trends.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within a team while representing the brand externally.
  • A strong work ethic, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
  • Proven ability to balance real-time social needs with planned projects.

WE’D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

  • Knowledge of and interest in sports and entertainment.
  • Experience with social analytics and reporting, with an eye toward measuring engagement and community growth.
  • Graphic design experience.
