We are looking for a Director of Benefits to lead and manage the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of our employee benefits programs across a diverse and growing workforce. This role is ideal for someone who brings both strategic insight and practical execution—and who is motivated by making a meaningful impact on employees’ day-to-day experience. From corporate offices to construction sites, hospitality environments to residential and commercial properties, you’ll ensure our benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and truly supportive of and valued by our employees.

Annual Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Employee Experience
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees, managers, and HR partners
- Support leave of absence and disability processes with care and clarity
- Enhance engagement through clear communication, education, and benefits outreach
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead benefits planning and program design
- Analyze utilization, trends, and costs to recommend thoughtful, cost-effective enhancements
- Help ensure programs remain competitive across multiple industries and workforce segments
Program Management
- Oversee all benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life, disability, 401(k), wellness, EAP, and commuter benefits
- Act as primary liaison with brokers, carriers, and retirement vendors
- Lead open enrollment strategy, execution, and communications
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and related regulations
- Manage audits, non-discrimination testing, Form 5500 filings, and 1095 reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation, policies, and procedures
Operations & Analytics
- Oversee enrollments, payroll deductions, and vendor integrations
- Leverage HRIS and advanced Excel reporting for insights, invoicing, and audits
- Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Tax, and Communications
Qualifications
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits or HR, including leadership responsibilities
- Deep knowledge of benefits administration, compliance, and industry best practices
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms and expert-level Excel skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategy
- Exceptional communication skills with a customer-focused, approachable style
- High level of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred:
- CEBS, CBP, SHRM-SCP/CP, SPHR/PHR certifications
- Experience in construction, real estate, facilities, healthcare, or hospitality environments
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills
This is a highly visible, onsite leadership role that requires regular interaction with employees and stakeholders across multiple locations. Occasional travel to offices, job sites, and properties is expected. The role involves a mix of strategic planning and detailed execution in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and responsiveness are essential.
