The Role

As a Director, Business Partner Portfolio Management, you will serve as program lead for a funded Initiative comprised of business partner technology requests for FFIO. You will interact with senior members of both the business partner and FFIO leadership team when communicating status and performance against plan for initiatives. You are responsible for the entire life cycle, from annual planning, prioritization, overseeing progress, delivering updates and communicating performance & results. You will work closely with FFIO Relationship Management to understand the business partner strategic goals, priorities, and alignment of FFIO services.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Lead the planning, program management and business partner technology enhancement requests for FFIO, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery and transparency.
  • Coordinate across business partner teams, FFIO Relationship Management, and FFIO Technology Delivery Teams to manage dependencies and ensure alignment on highest priorities.
  • Serve as primary point for the business partner initiative, including change management and scope changes, and FFIO business routines
  • Measure business partner initiative progress through the Business Partner Throughput KPI, and coordinate actions to improve the results as needed.
  • Serve as point for consolidating all FFIO deliverables related to the business partner work requests.
  • Work across the business partner organization and FFIO to ensure alignment on key priorities and deliverables; lead FFIO Business Reviews to bring voice of the customer to FFIO leadership
  • Ensure accurate data across program-level tools (e.g., Portfolio Connect, Jira Align).
  • Serve as key contributor of the Business Partner Program Management team ensuring updates are integrated into broader program communications.
  • Provide high level status reporting and insights to Business Partner Program leadership.
  • Program oversight on XL (extra-large) requests coordinating with Service Consultant and Relationship Managers
  • Maintain delivery roadmaps, XL request documentation, cross business partner key deliverables, and milestone tracking for assigned initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on key delivery metrics – Business Partner Throughout KPI, including readiness, completion, resource utilization and backlog
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across Business Partner Intake, Governance, delivery processes, tooling, and Business Partner Program team practices.
  • Efficiently engage within existing Relationship Management intake process and framework
  • Work directly with Business Partners, in conjunction with Relationship Management, on yearly planning activities
  • Collaborate with business partner, FFIO Tech Strategy and Planning to ensure alignment, appropriate Initiative governance, multi-year planning activities, and vetting XL requests
  • Provide key updates and input into FFIO and business partner SLT executive meeting materials
  • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, learning, and shared ownership across all partner teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5–7 years of experience in program or project management including technology initiatives
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, modern development methodologies, and technical delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex requests and initiatives across multiple teams
  • 10+ years of financial services experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent business partner service
  • Ability to create meaningful and informative presentations on project status, updates, and other project related topics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture.

The Team

The Fidelity Funds and Investment Operations (FFIO) Program Management team provides program and project management to both FFIO and cross-Fidelity sponsored programs. The team is based in the US, and we have staff in Merrimack, NH, Boston, MA and Westlake, TX.
