
Director of Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is evolving its business model to sustain industry-leading growth, and we are expanding our Finance team to support strategic, data-driven decision-making. In this critical role, the Director of Data Analytics & Business Intelligence will be instrumental in enhancing analytics and business intelligence capabilities
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be instrumental in transforming our data assets into actionable business insights that support strategic decisions and improve overall company performance. You will be a key partner to the Finance and Senior leadership teams, providing critical analysis, reporting, and predictive modeling to support forecasting, profitability analysis, growth of our wine club, and operational efficiency initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex data findings to Operations, Support Center, and Executive audiences. You will collaborate closely with our Data Services team in IT, who are responsible for data governance, management, and lineage, to ensure the integrity and accessibility of our data. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analytics, and business intelligence tools, with experience in multi-unit retail or restaurants being a plus. This position is based at our Restaurant Support Center in Downers Grove, IL, as a key member of the Finance team.What You’ll Do:Strategic BI Leadership- Develop and execute the BI strategy for the Finance department, aligning with overall company objectives and the IT data strategy.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide key performance indicators (KPIs) and actionable insights into revenue, expenses, profitability, and other critical Business metrics.
- Proactively identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to uncover business opportunities and potential risks. Translate complex data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for executive leadership
- Partner with FP&A to enhance forecasting capabilities and expand forward-looking decision support.
- Perform statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends, patterns and anomalies in data; interpret results and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Clearly communicate financial and operational insights both within finance and cross functionally in a concise manner.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide clear and actionable financial insights.
- Lead strategic deep dives and ad hoc analysis to evaluate business performance, assess opportunities, and inform roadmap prioritization.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify reporting needs and translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Work closely with the IT Data Services team to ensure data quality, accuracy, and accessibility. Collaborate on the design and implementation of data models and data pipelines that support BI needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive business decisions and improve financial performance.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or financial analysis, with a significant focus on leveraging data to drive business insights. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences, including executive leadership
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data-driven insights.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience in multi-unit retail or restaurants / hospitality field is strongly preferred.
Compensation Range: Compensation range is $180,000-$220,000/year + bonus potential. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
