Job Summary
Responsible for the overall administration, organization, direction, and continuous improvement of the Registered Nursing Program while maintaining program accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) as well as approval through the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulations (IDFPR). Responsible for student retention initiatives. Candidates must exhibit an effective leadership style that supports Associate Degree Nursing Education, nursing faculty, and a diverse student population.

- Serve as the point of contact for the Nursing Program faculty, students, and community.
- Provide leadership and coordination for all activities in the Nursing program in conjunction with chair(s) and faculty.
- Act as the liaison between clinical sites and the Nursing program to establish and maintain positive relationships and evaluate clinical sites.
- Ensure clinical affiliation agreements are current.
- Track clinical requirements for faculty and students.
- Complete clinical requests with clinical sites with input from faculty.
- Monitor NCLEX pass rates and NCLEX report data for faculty review.
- Facilitate ACEN accreditation activities with faculty.
- Maintain ACEN documentation for continual accreditation status.
- Meet with and place out-of-sequence students in courses that ensure timely program completion.
- Develop retention initiatives/strategies for student success, timely program completion, and NCLEX exam success.
- Meet with students referred by faculty for retention purposes developing success plans with students.
- Act as a liaison between nursing students and nursing faculty when issues arise.
- Facilitate review/revision of the student nurse handbook policies with faculty annually.
- Maintain the NCLEX EAGLE page and provide current information to 4th-semester students.
- Complete end-of-program rosters for CTS submission.
- In collaboration with the Department Chair, organize and co-lead annual Nursing Advisory Committee (NAC) meetings.
- Review budget needs with faculty and submit annual FY budget requests to the Dean of Health Sciences.
- Monitor budget expenditures and submit requests including grant requests.
- Administer the Pipeline for the Advancement of the Healthcare Workforce (PATH) grant.
- Coordinate and participate in student recruitment activities, such as HSC Tours
- Schedule and lead monthly Information Sessions.
- Maintain partnerships with BSN completion programs.
- Maintain the Nursing webpage to reflect current information.
- Annually review the Nursing section of the college catalog for current information.
- Facilitate admission process and lead new student orientation
- In collaboration with the Department Chair, assess adjunct needs to ensure appropriate clinical, lab, and theory coverage.
- Facilitate the adjunct hiring process.
- Complete and submit annual reports to the Illinois State Board of Nursing and ACEN.
- Coordinate course outcomes assessment in conjunction with chair(s) and faculty.
- Act as a resource to support the administrative needs of full-time faculty.
- Facilitate faculty development needs.
- In collaboration with the Department Chair, facilitate the five-year Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Program Review
- Participate in college committees that will enhance the nursing program.
- Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or higher with a major in Nursing.
- Minimum of two years' experience in clinical nursing practice.
- Minimum of two years' experience as an instructor in an RN or higher nursing education program.
- Current unencumbered Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or two years of administrative experience in higher education setting; Community College preferred.
- Previous experience with accreditation process, ACEN, preferred.
