Rancher Government Solutions (RGS) is specifically designed to address the unique security and operational needs of the U.S. Government and military as it relates to application modernization, containers, and Kubernetes.
Rancher is a complete open-source software stack for teams adopting containers. It addresses the operations and security challenges of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters at scale, while providing DevOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads.
RGS supports all Rancher products with U.S. based American citizen with the highest security clearances who are currently supporting programs across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations and Enablement is a key leader responsible for driving operational excellence across the organization. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, streamlining workflows, and building a resilient operational infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to project management, infrastructure innovation, and team development, ensuring teams have the resources and support needed to succeed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Project Management
- Oversee and manage strategic, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Lead the RGS PMO function, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., SUSE Program Management, Product Support) to deliver on project milestones and deliverables.
- Manage the project intake process for all new operational and IT-related projects.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Provide leadership and innovative solutions to build operational resilience and efficiency within the RGS IT infrastructure.
- Leverage automation technologies, such as Terraform and Workflow, to increase team efficiency in managing day-to-day operations.
- Incorporate security-certified RGS/SUSE products into the internal IT environment to create real-world examples and drive brand awareness and sales opportunities.
Security & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the current security posture of RGS's CMMC-certified environment in close collaboration with the Security Director and Information Security Officer.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI and security solutions, to enhance security profiles and drive operational efficiency.
Training & Team Enablement
- Design and manage comprehensive training programs that equip employees with the technical, social, and personal skills required for their roles.
- Develop a tailored training plan and career path outline for each team member, leveraging internal and external training assets to support professional growth.
- Provide technical guidance and direct supervision for the operations team, overseeing daily tasks and project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in a senior operations or enablement role, preferably within a technology or IT-focused environment.
- Strong background in project management, with the ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure management and the implementation of automation technologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience with security frameworks like CMMC.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and advocate for operational needs.
