Job Summary: The Director of Production Control plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing production processes within our organization. This leadership position involves directing and coordinating activities related to material processing and product manufacturing. The Director ensures efficient material flow, accurate inventory management, and timely delivery to customers. They collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers. Essential Functions:
  • Develop/maintain material and inventory control systems supporting customers with on-time delivery.
  • Develop inventory management strategies to improve inventory turns in all facilities.
  • Develop metrics to reduce total on-hand inventory.
  • Provide oversight to all AR plant production plans to ensure the monthly plan meets or exceeds our monthly sales budgets.
  • Oversee the scheduling process at a corporate level to ensure the execution of the production plan.
  • Work with Program Management Team in the planning for launch of new products.
  • Support all plant materials managers to identify bottlenecks or delays in production; develop plans to ensure necessary resources are available to resolve any issues and work to optimize where possible
  • Support material activity associated with a directed buy process and assist in resolving contract management issues impacting material availability.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy of inventory records for all parts within (PLEX) ERP system.
  • Monitor material flow between plants, suppliers, and the customer; Manage monthly freight budgets.
  • Oversight at a corporate level of shipping/receiving processes and documents and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor and verify materials pipeline to support Materials Requirement Plan (MRP).
  • Resolve supplier performance issues to ensure 100% on-Time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in Production Control personally or through subordinate supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, ERP/MRP planning tools, and production control processes.
  • Proven track record in leading high-mix, low- to medium-volume production environments.
  • Demonstrated success in improving production throughput, quality, and cost performance.
  • Deep knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel, including frequent travel across AR sites.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a significant portion in leadership roles. Demonstrated success in production planning, inventory control, MRP/ERP systems.
Background Prerequisites:Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing. Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP certification.
