
Director of SCADhome Operations
As a director of SCADhome operations, you will oversee the entire housing assignment process for all students. Responsibilities include oversight of more than 45 residence halls and nearly 9,000 beds across all SCAD locations, supervision of three concierge specialists and three housing technical analysts, and communication with admission to ensure priority recruits and families are satisfied. Among other duties, you will communicate with students and families about maintenance and safety concerns, roommate disputes, and building needs. You will also supervise one housing facility coordinator, maximize occupancy and revenue, and conduct research to adequately plan staffing for fall quarter. Other responsibilities include the completion of quarterly move-in and move-out logistics with special consideration for admission programs, student athletes, and those with medical accommodations and emotional support or service animals.
In this position, you will maintain housing software programs to ensure seamless communication with Banner and provide training to residence life staff. You will regularly generate occupancy-related reports; coordinate communication with students and families about housing selection timelines and assignments, policies, and meal plan requirements; and oversee billing for student assignments and damage charges. Likewise, you will handle appeals related to the Housing License Agreement and damage billing processes. You will develop surveys, focus groups, and evaluations to collect data on housing operations and prepare reports based on your findings to implement an improvement plan. Additionally, you will direct the Savannah and Atlanta maintenance teams to ensure safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing living spaces in compliance with local regulations.
In this role, you will conduct staff performance evaluations and provide guidance for housing assignments, residence hall openings and closures, facility maintenance, and key distribution and collection. You will also implement training programs to enhance team productivity and customer service skills. During the duty rotation, you will serve as an on-call manager (OCM), responding to student concerns. Among other duties, you will collaborate with various internal departments coordinate services and resident support, liaise with external vendors and contractors regarding housing-related services, and foster positive relationships with students to promptly address their housing needs and concerns.
As a director, you will create department communication resources to implement an effective strategy for informing students about policies, procedures, and updates. You will also evaluate and enhance the department's online presence and resources to improve the residential experience. Additionally, you will conduct advance planning and research during spring quarter to ensure fall quarter, on-campus students are cleared with student accounts, student success and advising, community standards, and academic services administration. This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least three years of full-time professional experience in higher education
- Previous experience supervising professional staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree with a concentration in business, service design, design management, higher education administration, creative business leadership, or similar
Travel required:
- 10–20%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
