The company is making strategic investments in new enterprise products and platforms to allow the company to meet its high-reaching global growth agenda. This position will lead a team in Operations Engineering organization, partnering with Global Commercial Services Engineering on their exciting journey to redefine the customer experiences powered by Global Commercial Services. We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and forward-thinking Engineering Director to help drive resiliency and high availability across Global Commercial Services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement software development practices to build observability, alerting, tracing, automation and self-healing capabilities to maintain the highest levels of platform availability.
• Lead 24x7 production support for the environment to quickly restore service during impacts.
• Drive accountability for quality aspects in release, system performance, platform availability, operational efficiency, risk management, information security and data management.
• Champion and drive cross-organizational development efforts for the optimization of application monitoring and resiliency capabilities.
• Nurture an environment of innovation and continuous improvement, leading changes that drive efficiencies into existing engineering and delivery processes.
• Implement tools, automation and processes to ensure software is released in a streamlined and reliable manner from development to production.
• Adhere to compliance targets and enterprise security standards.
• Act as forward-thinking leader and remain current on modern technology-leading trends.
• Attract, retain and grow top talent, providing guidance, career development and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
• Technical Excellence Prerequisite – Candidate are required to pass the Tech Bar Evaluation for Engineering Director, either Software Development or SRE, to be considered for this position.
• 10+ years of overall technology industry experience and technical delivery for large-scale organizations or start-ups
• Strong systems engineering and hands on application development skills (Java, Go, React). Along with a high degree of technical knowledge, ranging across several technologies (e.g., platform enablers including Prometheus, Consul, Vault, ELK and Infrastructure platforms including Cloud, networking and storage)
• Large scale software product engineering experience with contemporary tools and delivery methods in a complex environment (e.g. DevOps, CD/CI, Agile, etc.)
• Extensive experience as a leader within a Technology organization and/or in a product development company with experience developing observability and self-healing capabilities.
• Ability to understand the overall picture of a product roadmap (1 – 3 years) and experienced in building real time/batch distributed applications in cloud Architecture, In Memory computing systems and event driven architecture.
• Ability to lead multiple priorities and rapidly guide the organization through change moments.
• Demonstrate thought leadership to overcome challenges and inspire change.
• Be a hands-on technologist that can not only do effective code reviews but can also code, understand what a pull request means, and understands code etiquette.
• Possess extraordinary influential and collaboration skills; ability to drive consensus and tangible outcomes, demonstrated by breaking down silos and fostering cross communication process.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to impact all levels across functions, conduct intelligent business and technology conversations.
• Experience in building high quality and efficient Engineering teams with a strong engineering approach.
• Attract, retain, and develop the best engineering talent in the market; mentor, and cultivate technology leaders within the team.
• Able to define precise, well-understood objectives and key results for the department, teams, and individuals.
Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
