Why This Role Matters

Every propane delivery keeps a home warm, a farm running, or a business operating without interruption. As a Dispatch Coordinator at EDP, you’ll be the nerve center that turns planning into dependability—making sure drivers, routes, and customers stay aligned so service happens safely, efficiently, and on time. Your decisions directly impact customer trust and day‑to‑day operational reliability across multiple states.

What You’ll Do

You’ll coordinate propane deliveries for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers, translating demand into clear, executable routes for drivers. This role works closely with drivers, customer service, sales, and operations to keep deliveries moving smoothly—even when weather, demand spikes, or last‑minute changes arise.

Success in this role means drivers leave each morning with optimized routes, customers know when to expect service, and operational data is accurate enough to spot issues before they become problems.

What You’ll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days

  • Learn EDP’s dispatch software, delivery workflows, and safety protocols while shadowing experienced dispatchers
  • Begin scheduling and adjusting delivery routes for a defined territory with oversight
  • Communicate directly with drivers to handle routine updates, delays, and route changes
  • Work with customer service to resolve delivery questions and document outcomes accurately

What Success Looks Like in 90 Days

  • Independently manage daily dispatch for assigned routes with minimal escalations
  • Optimize delivery schedules to reduce missed stops, re-routes, and overtime
  • Maintain real-time delivery visibility and accurate dispatch records
  • Consistently follow safety and regulatory requirements without reminders

Must Have

  • Prior experience dispatching deliveries or coordinating routes in a regulated logistics or fuel environment
  • Working knowledge of fuel distribution safety requirements and compliance standards
  • Ability to manage multiple delivery priorities at once without losing accuracy
  • Comfort working daily with dispatch software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Clear, direct communication skills with drivers and internal teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience in propane, fuel, or energy distribution
  • Familiarity with optimizing routes using delivery performance data
  • Prior collaboration with customer service or operations teams
  • Experience supporting both rural and metropolitan delivery areas
