Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supervising, guiding, and/or instructing the work assignments of subordinate staff and, at the same time, overseeing Procurement to include creating purchase orders, procuring supply orders for 75+ district health programs and several small county health departments, inventory management, travel reservations, training, and managing the District's Credit card and Gift Card procedures.

Administrative and County Support

  • Builds and maintains a good rapport and working relationship with NCHD staff.
  • Offers excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Upon receipt, process purchase orders.
  • Works with Accounts Payable to ensure checks are cut and the procurement process is completed within all counties.
  • Assist counties with district credit card usage when needed.
  • Train staff as required on the Procurement and Purchasing process.
  • Train new hires in the Travel reimbursement process.

Procurement

  • Acts as a liaison between the purchasing vendors and programs for placing supply orders.
  • Prepares Purchase orders and follows through on orders being received and paid.
  • Sets up and maintains vendor supply list.

Receptionist Supervisory

  • Supervises the Receptionist and ensures the receptionist area is covered at all times.
  • Assist the receptionist with scheduling and maintaining fleet vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and (5) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician 3 (FIT022) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Computer experience (Word, Excel, data entry, etc.)
  • Experience with account reconciliations.
