Physical Requirements
Requires heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects over 50 pounds; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; exposure to temperature extremes, Able to work in hot, wet areas and wear personal protective clothing.
Shift
We have the following shifts available Monday – Friday:
A Shift is 7:30am – 11:30 am
or
B Shift is 12:30 pm – 3 pm
We would prefer a student who can work either of the above shifts at least 2 – 4 days per week.
Job Summary
The University of Kentucky’s Division of Laboratory Animal Research is recruiting students to work in our facilities.
This position will primarily complete cage wash activities; Provide facility maintenance and sanitation as directed. Completes cage wash activities check-lists, logs and documentation accurately and within appropriate time-frames. Documents and reports equipment malfunctions to management. Maintains proper record keeping of washer and sterilizer quality assurance testing.
All actions are completed by strictly and consistently following applicable DLAR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) including safety procedures and guidelines. Reports any suspected or actual deviations to SOPs or non-routine situations immediately to their Supervisor and/or Team Lead. Phones and other electronic devices must be left in locker while performing work duties. Mobile phone use will only be allowed during scheduled break time. Arrives, leaves and takes breaks at work as scheduled.
