The Department of County Human Services (DCHS) invites applications for a Domestic Violence Response Advocate position with the Youth and Family Services Division (YFS). We are currently recruiting for one (1) full-time position. This position is scheduled as Hybrid Telework, will be scheduled 40 hours a week Wednesday-Saturday1:00 PM- 12:00 Midnight. The onsite work location for this position is Domestic Violence Crisis Response Unit (DVCRU), 10225 E Burnside St., Portland OR 97216. This position is contingent on successfully passing a secondary in-depth background check with Portland Police Bureau.
The eligible list created from this recruitment may also be used to fill future regular, limited duration, or temporary positions in DCHS.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Crisis response and advocacy
• Follow-up safety planning and support
• Outreach and community education
• Participation in meetings and training
• Reporting and documentation of statistics and other information
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
• Associate's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or a related field (Equivalent training and practical experience may substitute for the educational requirement)
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in direct service to clients who have been harmed by domestic violence
• Must have completed the 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training from the State of Oregon or equivalent from the other State OR have the ability to complete within 3 months of hire.
• Must pass a criminal background check with Multnomah County and an additional in-depth criminal background check with the Portland Police Bureau (these steps occur after a job offer)
• Must have a valid driver license

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as “hybrid telework,” meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location.
