Physical Requirements

This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials, and exposure to loud noises, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.



Shift

Must be able to work three 12.5-hour shifts per week; shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and/or swing. Will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.



Job Summary

The ED Access Associate (EDAA) is responsible for greeting and providing direction to staff, families, and visitors entering the hospital. EDAAs are key players in communicating with charge nurses and team leaders, ensuring that physician teams are paged in a timely and accurate manner. They are also responsible for clerical duties related to patient care, including maintaining and ordering necessary clerical supplies. Additionally, they have some responsibilities for scheduling to support departmental operations.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Basic administrative skills such as receptionist abilities (including phone, keyboarding, filing, and fax machine skills); knowledge of medical terminology; and interpersonal skills

Two years of college education and experience working in a medical clerical setting preferred
