SUMMARY
Use computer aided design (CAD) software to generate initial electrical drawings from customer project files for engineering review, and revise drawings as necessary. Design, or assist in the design of, Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphics and associated programming per customer specifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Skill in design and drafting techniques.
- Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Minimizing Errors in electrical drawings.
- Reduce Rework by limiting errors in drawings and other design documents.
- Identify parts for E & O Reduction.
- Ability to use schematics, diagrams, computer and related test equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
- Basic understanding of single phase and three phase power concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembles documentation packages and produces drawings from customer project files using CAD software.
- After engineering review, revises the drawings if necessary, and submit for approval or release.
- Revises electrical drawings and submit ECNs for processing.
- Confers with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.
- Communicate to the project team any problems found with project file documentation such as errors or omissions.
- Supports manufacturing process to manufacture, test, and ship product.
- Supports customer service to deliver solutions to customers.
- Reduces rework by thoroughly checking the completed electrical design before engineering review, and before final release to manufacturing.

- Performs other similar or related duties as directed, assigned or as necessary to accomplish the department’s objectives in an effective manner.
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.

- Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
- The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers’ facilities:
- Company approved safety glasses or goggles
- Company approved steel ESD toe shoes.
- Appropriate hand protection.
- Ear protection in designated areas.
- Appropriate clothing.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree (A.S.) in electrical or electronics engineering or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and minimum of three years industrial experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: AutoCADE R18 or greater and Microsoft Office applications.
- EQUIPMENT: Computer and other general office equipment. Knowledgeable of industrial electricity and electronics.
