Job Description

Position Purpose:

Primary support person for Veolia's National Emergency Response projects. Responsible for managing
all activities associated with client service requests in the US. Activities include Program management
and implementation, customer service, contracting, project supervision, industrial hygiene, health and
safety, and environmental compliance for a wide variety of project types. Assists in establishing and
attaining annual goals and objectives and maintains profit and loss ratios in concert with corporate,
regional, and Program objectives. Oversees projects to full completion in accordance with customer
expectations, contract and Program requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Manages post-project
activities including project reporting, waste management, and invoicing.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and act on opportunities to increase value added services to customers
  • Enforce all compliance, health and safety, and procedures in accordance with departmental and regional policies
  • Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and/or potential problems
  • Oversee compliance with all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all other governmental regulations
  • Implement training material and information into Program operations
  • Oversee Program operations to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure contract compliance and advise accordingly
  • Provide a safe and compliant work environment
  • Ability to travel - customer meetings, project management, on an as needed basis (up to 10%)
  • After-hours availability (as needed)
  • Participate in internal developmental training (attend and present, refresher & other courses instituted by VESTS)


Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • 5+ years of hazardous waste AND other industry experience (e.g., Health & Safety, Reactives, Operations, Technical Service, Sales, etc.)

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge in DOT, EPA, TSCA, and OSHA regulations
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft and Google platforms
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to create & prepare reports as necessary
  • Strong practical knowledge of Veolia systems (AMS, AS400, Concur, Confluence, Google, RPM, TSatWork, WebNow, etc.)
  • Ability of adapt, improvise, and overcome challenges (i.e., learn on demand)

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • CHMM or similar advanced certification preferred
  • Able to attain additional industry-recognized continuing education certifications
