Job Description
The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in our Endoscopy Unit Mainland 106 department. Your main responsibility will be to assist the endoscopy team and ensure a smooth and efficient workflow before, during, and after procedures. You'll be responsible for managing scopes and equipment, setting up procedure rooms, and providing support to clinical staff. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a difference in patient care and has a passion for endoscopy.Responsibilities
- Support the Endoscopy department by executing duties related to scope and equipment management.
- Set up procedure rooms, maintain equipment, and assist clinical staff.
- Ensure the working order of endoscopy equipment through cleaning, disinfecting, testing, and storage.
- Report broken equipment and expired supplies to the Lead Endoscopy Technician.
- Complete 400 hours of Sterile Processing technical hours towards certification.
- Assist with patient care and procedures as requested, including laboratory specimens and equipment disinfection.
- Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and provide support to the physician and registered nurse during endoscopic procedures.
- Provide quality customer service and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- Must be willing to pass the certified registered central service technician exam (CRCST), certified endoscope re-processor, and/or certified flexible endoscope re-processor within the specified timeframe.
- Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire, with training provided for incumbents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
