Job Summary

The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for Engineer Associate I/KTC position. Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include:
  • highway design
  • project management
  • pavement design and maintenance
  • infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis
  • construction management
  • highway and infrastructure safety
  • structural engineering and preservation
  • intelligent transportation systems
  • economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation
  • traffic operations
  • environmental analysis


While prospective applicants do not need to have research experience in these areas, they should have a broad understanding of transportation systems, be open to learning about new subjects, and be excited at the prospect of creating new knowledge that will influence how agencies manage critical infrastructure. Students graduating in the Fall of 2025 or Spring of 2026 are encouraged to apply.
