About the role:

Engineering Design Leader is responsible for researching, developing, designing, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components and systems by applying engineering principles and techniques to meet customer specifications and provide documentation including creation of part numbers, Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings (piece part, sub-assembly and assemblies), bills of materials (BOM’s), assembly instructions (routings) etc. using PDM and ERP management systems to release into production.

What you will do:

  • Release documentation including Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings (piece part, sub-assembly and assemblies), kitbooks, and engineering orders (EO).
  • Problem solving: Troubleshoot assembly issues, advising service about field issues and sales about engineering questions.
  • Creation of part numbers bills of materials (BOM’s), assembly instructions (routings) etc. using enterprise system such as BPCS.
  • Research, develop, design, and test mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components and systems by applying engineering principles and techniques to meet customer specifications.
  • Responsible for technical expertise for engineering programs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to training new engineers in MCFA standards, procedures and systems.


When & Where:

In office Tuesday-Thursday. Option to work remotely Monday and Friday. Travel on occasion to supplier, sister campus, application visits

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
  • Good people skills – team player, communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks and be results oriented
  • 3D CAD (Creo preferred)
  • MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • PDM software and ERP systems, i.e. Windchill, AX Dynamics or AS400
  • Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge
  • Hands-on approach and mechanical aptitude to install components and systems into a forklift


What would be nice to have:

  • Forklift Truck Operators license (OSHA approved)
  • Professional Engineering License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, SAE, CEN and UL standards
  • Working knowledge of ITA and ITSDF Recommended Practices
  • Worked on Logisnext, competitive or industry related IC or Electric industrial vehicles

The pay for this position ranges from $110,147 to $128,355 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
