About the role:

Plans, directs, and advises engineering teams working on NPD projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of project schedules, plans, and manpower. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Drive projects towards deliverables, compile and report on projects within stage-gate process.

What you will do:

  • Project Management: Hold regular engineering team meetings for each project. Communicate priorities, next steps, challenges, and successes. Identify key tasks, next steps, bottlenecks, etc. Ensure teams meet goals and keep projects on schedule
  • Interface with other departments: Attend cross-functional team meetings as engineering representative for projects. Work with other departments to support the creation of project timelines, requirements list, project goals/targets. Work with purchasing, manufacturing, and PLM to support cost rollups and ROI calculations
  • Reporting: Create and present periodic project status presentations, for internal or external audiences. Create and maintain high-level, clear to understand project schedules.
  • Engineering Deliverables Documentation: Define format for project deliverables documentation. Ensure high standards of quality and completeness
  • BOM Management: Manage BOM lists for projects. Guide design team towards next actions needed on BOM throughout quotation process, cost rollup, and parts order process.
  • Engineering Processes/Tools/Templates: Create and maintain processes, tools, and templates for use in development projects. Consult with teams to identify pain points or unclear work streams and work to establish processes and reference materials to improve

  • Hybrid schedule
  • Will be required to live near one of our locations:
    • Marengo, Illinois
    • Houston, Texas
  • May require some travel (10% or less)


What you need to have:

  • 2-7 years engineering design experience and/or project management experience
  • B.S. in an engineering field
  • Functional electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic knowledge
  • Experience in product development, stage-gate processes, BOM systems
  • Team player with good oral and written communication skills


What would be nice to have:

  • Experience leading Cross Functional Teams and reporting on projects to senior leadership
  • Project management certificate, seminar attendances and/or experience
  • Worked in same or similar industry mobile related vehicles
  • Working knowledge of industry standards including EPA, ISO, ITA, ITSDF, UL, CEN, and JIVA
  • Experience with Project Management and other Tools (MS Project, Kanban Boards, Agile, Power BI, etc.)

The salary for this position ranges from $94,500 to $120,000 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
