We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Technician to join our Operations team in a fast-paced RF and Microwave manufacturing environment. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong background in testing, tuning, troubleshooting, and manufacturing advanced RF products.
The successful candidate will support the production of RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and frequency conversion products, ranging from discrete components through integrated subsystems. Working closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations, this individual will play a key role in solving complex technical challenges, supporting new product introduction, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance products.

Essential Functions:
Technical Responsibilities
- Test, tune, troubleshoot, characterize, and validate RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and frequency conversion products from discrete components through fully integrated subsystems.
- Perform RF and microwave characterization, tuning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing using advanced RF test instrumentation, including PNA/PNA-X network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, noise figure analyzers, RF sources, and automated test systems.
- Diagnose complex RF performance issues, analyze test data, and determine root causes using sound engineering principles and measurement techniques.
- Perform electrical alignment and optimization of RF assemblies to meet product performance specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Perform precision assembly and troubleshooting using microscopes and miniature hand tools.
Engineering & Product Development
- Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to support prototype builds, First Article Inspection, New Product Introduction, and production readiness.
- Support engineering investigations by recommending design, test, or manufacturing improvements that enhance product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and quality.
- Develop and improve manufacturing fixtures, test methods, and standardized work instructions to increase repeatability and production efficiency.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on improving first-pass yield, reducing cycle time, increasing throughput, and eliminating waste.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing and customer-return issues.
- Work across multiple manufacturing departments to resolve technical challenges and support production priorities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and support junior technicians by providing technical guidance on new products, manufacturing processes, RF test equipment, troubleshooting techniques, and best manufacturing practices.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing records, test documentation, and production data in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience, or an Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience testing, tuning, troubleshooting, and characterizing RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, or frequency conversion products.
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave theory, measurements, and applications.
- Experience troubleshooting RF hardware from discrete component level through integrated subsystem level.
- Proficiency in using advanced RF test equipment
- Ability to analyze RF test results and determine the root cause of electrical performance issues.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and experience working under a microscope with miniature RF components.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and Operations.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction and transitioning products into production.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements that improve quality, manufacturing efficiency, and throughput.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
