JOB SUMMARY:
The Enterprise Architect will lead the design and governance of OnPoint’s enterprise-wide technology architecture. This role is responsible for aligning IT strategy with business goals, ensuring scalable and secure solutions, and driving architectural standards across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for enabling innovation through architecture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Architecture Leadership
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with OnPoint’s business strategy and CIO priorities, creating increased alignment between IT investments and business outcomes.
- Lead the Architecture Review Committee and represent IT in the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) process.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to evaluate and recommend solutions that support growth, efficiency, and resilience.
Governance & Standards
- Establish and enforce architecture principles, patterns, and standards across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with various CIO teams to ensure cohesive architectural decisions.
Solution Oversight
- Provide architectural guidance for major initiatives, including cloud adoption, data transformation, employing AI, and core system modernization.
- Review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Provide consultative support to project teams in resolving architectural challenges and trade-offs.
Collaboration & Communication
- Develop and implement a comprehensive architecture review process to ensure consistency and alignment, driving adoption and maturity.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment through architecture review processes and working sessions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor solution architects and technical leads across the organization to grow architectural maturity.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Proven ability to lead architecture governance bodies and influence IT and business leaders
- Ability to align IT and business initiatives under a cohesive architecture strategy.
- Ability to evolve architectural strategies to accommodate emerging technologies, organizational growth, and market changes.
- Ability to assess solution architectures for alignment with enterprise standards and make informed trade-offs.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive AI adoption, aligning AI initiatives with enterprise business goals and technology roadmaps.
- Ability to develop and enforce enterprise-wide AI standards and best practices, fostering a consistent and secure AI ecosystem.
- Skilled at facilitating cross-functional discussions, architecture working sessions, and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong understanding of data governance, DevSecOps, and agile delivery models
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in Credit Union IT, with 5+ years in architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and governing enterprise-scale systems.
- Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), integration patterns, and security architecture.
Preferred:
- TOGAF or similar certification.
- Familiarity with architecture tools (e.g., LeanIX, ArchiMate).
